MUSIC ON HOLD FAQ

Q: What is royalty free music?
A: Royalty free music is music created to be used without the usual legal constraints of commercial music.

Q: Why the need?
A: Using commercial music without permission or license is generally not legal.

Q: Why don't I recognize any of the themes I hear in your music library?
A: They are all original (except for some public domain material) and can be found only in our library.

Q: What is Davenport Music Library's licensing arrangement?
A: When you purchase our products, your license is for lifetime usage and prepaid with your purchase. No more fees are required thereafter. See License.

Q: What can I not do with Davenport Music Library's CD's?
A: You cannot copy them or the tracks therein and sell or give away copies as if they were yours.

Q: Are your products guaranteed?
A: Yes. If you receive a defective CD from us, we'll replace it free. If you accidentally damaged it, send us $10 and we'll ship you a new copy.

Q: Is your music synthesized or live?
A: Mostly synthesized to sound as live as possible. Otherwise, our CD's probably would not be economically attractive.

Q: I own a grocery store and would like to play your CDs in my music system for my customers. May I do this?
A: Yes. You may play our CDs in an open environment. But, to be honest, after a few days, you and your employees will grow tired of listening to 10 CDs so we don't recommend this. Our CDs are perfect for "telephone on hold" music, hotel information systems and the like. If you need music for your customers while they shop, pick up your "Yellow Pages" and check out the " Music" (background or foreground) category.
